The Baliette Standard

Jati.jpg

Perhutani-Certified Indonesian Teak

Responsibly sourced, structurally superior

Our products use SVLK-certified Indonesian Perhutani teak, not community-grown teak (Jati Rakyat).

Community-grown teak is generally planted on fertile agricultural land, which allows the trees to grow quickly. However, this rapid growth often results in larger wood grains and a softer wood structure.

Perhutani teak, on the other hand, grows more slowly in controlled forest environments. This slower growth produces tighter grain patterns and stronger, denser wood—making it more durable and suitable for premium hospitality conditions.

Source integrity and ethics are paramount. Every Baliette piece is traceably crafted from SVLK-certified, Perhutani-managed teak forests.

Why Indonesian Teak?

Extreme Durability
Natural Water Resistance
Timeless Aesthetic
Termite Resistance

Indonesian Teak is renowned for its high oil content and tensile strength, making it the perfect choice for heirloom-quality furniture.

The natural resins and rubbers in teak repel water and prevent rot, ensuring excellence in both indoor and outdoor luxury settings.

With a rich golden hue that matures into a sophisticated silvery patina, teak adds an organic, elegant touch to any hospitality layout.

The high abundance of natural protective oils makes Indonesian teak uniquely resistant to termites and other wood-boring pests.

Craftmanship

Precision Fastening — Screws, Not Nails

We use screws instead of nails in our construction. Screws provide stronger holding power, better structural stability, and long-term durability compared to traditional nailing methods.

Professional-Grade Adhesive

Where bonding is required, we apply high-performance epoxy adhesive rather than ordinary white glue. Epoxy creates a far stronger and more moisture-resistant bond, ensuring joints remain secure for years.

Kiln-Dried Teak Wood

All of our teak wood is kiln-dried to reach optimal moisture content before production. Properly dried wood minimizes movement, prevents cracking, and ensures the furniture remains stable in different climates

True Woodworking Joinery

Our pieces are built using professional joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon, finger joints, and other structural joinery systems that lock the wood together for superior strength.

Professional-Grade Finishing

We use professional-grade finishing materials such as Propan or Sirca (Italy). These high-quality finishes enhance the natural beauty of teak while providing durable protection, ensuring the wood remains elegant and well-protected for years.
